Officers

President – Spencer Harper
Spencer Harper was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI but has lived and climbed many places domestic and abroad. After a career as a network engineer, he decided he had enough of the corporate grind and wanted to live a more personal and fulfilling life closer to beautiful rocks and nature. He moved to Fremont County in 2022 to build Cafe Belay, a specialty coffee roastery and climbing gear shop, as well as foster a climbing culture in the region.
Vice President – Brian Dziekonski
Brian Dziekonski has lived in Colorado Springs for the last 16 years and has been climbing for 49 years. A lot has changed over the years in equipment, ethics and safety, but the camaraderie and excitement has never waned. Over the last 6 years he’s climbed extensively in Fremont County and is attempting to record the climbs for posterity. Access and land stewardship to preserve climbing opportunities for the future is a major focus.

Secretary – Colleen Rudolf
Colleen Rudolf is an artist, educator, and outdoor enthusiast who serves as Secretary for SoCo Crags. She combines her creative background with strong organizational skills to help support communication, connection, and stewardship within the southern Colorado climbing community.
Treasurer – Robert “Bob” Carver
Robert “Bob” Carver is a Pueblo native and spends most of his time in the Wet Mountains on tall granite peaks. Robert began climbing as a kid and enjoys all aspects of the discipline, but pulling techy granite faces may be his favorite type of climbing. A Disciple of John Gill, Robert has many First Ascents throughout Southern Colorado and strives to uphold the preservationist ethics found in the Wets. Notable mentors include Jason Wilson, Donn Ketchum, Kurt Bursagel and Brian Dziekonski. Additionally, Robert is a founding member of Sunstone Inclusivity Network, a Pueblo nonprofit with a focus on LGBTQ+ support and activism.

Board of Directors

Board Member – Ben Bruestle
Board Member – Michael “Millz” Millard
Mike “Millz” Millard has been living in southern Colorado since 2010. One one could say he is a bit obsessed with rock climbing here. He is also a raft guide on the Arkansas river and helps people realize their dreams through Royal Gorge Painting, the house painting company he runs. He looks forward to telling you info and stories about his favorite rock climbs at any given climbing area around.

Board Member – Benjamin Black
Benjamin Black grew up in Cañon City, Colorado, without realizing that world-class limestone was hiding just up the road at Shelf Road. That changed in June 2012, when a friend invited him out for his first day on real rock. Top roping and feeling the exposure above the canyon flipped a switch—climbing quickly became more than a hobby. It was the movement, the mental challenge, and especially the people gathered at the crag that pulled him in.
